Anodised Series is a limited collection produced by London-based designers Silo Studio in response to Relay’s invitation to produce a work experimenting with a new material, process or format.

Silo Studio used the commission invitation to explore the design potential of a ‘happy accident’ in their studio. Previously, an anodised surface was partially damaged, revealing a beautiful gradient colour beneath. Instantaneously, Silo saw the potential.

From that starting point, the Silo team went about ways of recreating the effect, perfecting it over time to create a truly unique finish for the studio. Deploying the new surface treatment into product design, Silo Studio created a series of unique products including shelving, consoles, coffee tables and mirrors. Establishing a new language for the studio, which has generated further commissions, including Browns Fashion London.

Silo Studio is the collaboration of Attua Aparicio and Oscar Lessing, who formed the partnership while studying at the Royal College of Art. Silo focuses on finding new ways of making, searching the potential of materials and processes, often finding inspiration in industry. Their main driving force is to inspire people to make more and to get excited about making.
