Our annual Mid Year Design Report is always an important moment to collectively sit down as a studio and assess the last six months. This has become even more important this year, as the start of 2022 saw us come out of two years of rolling lockdowns and reenter the world of in-person product launches, exhibitions and events.
+Halle opens their flagship showroom in Copenhagen.
Danish design brand +Halle marked this year’s 3 Days of Design by opening their flagship showroom in the heart of Copenhagen. Minimal yet energetic, the showroom houses the +Halle collection amongst bright blue architectural detailing, stainless steel fixtures and accessories by Niko June.
Zeitraum take up residence at Alcova.
Zeitraum also took up residence in Alcova during Milan Design Week, choosing the informality of Alcova’s design-led curation over the more formal format of the Salone.
The result was ‘Ponds of Colour’ a breezy & playful preview of new design from London-based designer Mattias Hahn and German design-duo Formstelle.

Product launch - T Shelf.
Swedish design brand Hem launches T Shelf by Formafantasma. The T Shelf is a love letter to highly skilled industrial production and a celebration of aluminium - its cool, perfectly anodized finish is virtually luminous.

We are excited to announce that Arcade Collection commissioned by Relay Design Projects will be resident at Brown's Fashion on Brook Street during London Fashion Week.
Product update - Opus from +Halle.
Danish brand +Halle has updated their recent product launch Opus with the addition of a new version with a built-in table.
Launched at the end of 2021, Opus quickly became a firm favourite with its elegant, stream-lined design which used minimal materials. Designed by Swedish design firm Form Us With Love, the team made the recent addition to make the Opus family even more flexible.
Zeitraum makes Bold additions.
The new year begins comfortably with bold new additions for some classic Zeitraum beds. The prestigious German furniture brand presents the new Bold variant for some of their most popular designs.
Product launch - Ago Collection 2022.
We start the year with a bumper group of new lighting launches from Ago Lighting. These new additions include a portable table lamp and a desk lamp with integrated wireless charging for mobile devices.

As 2021 comes to a close, +Halle have decided to showcase that their time during the pandemic has not been wasted with the launch of two new collections.
BAUX signs the UN Climate Neutral Now Pledge.
BAUX have decided to put effort, money, engagement, and decisiveness into fulfilling one of the United Nations goals—Goal 13—which involves making all areas of their business climate neutral in 2021.
Future focus: Raw Materials
Sustainability has been one of the founding principles of Relay Design Agency since we were established in 2009. In the ensuing decade we have seen the spotlight on sustainability increase in both scale and intensity.
For this edition of Future Focus, we look at the role of traceability & transparency in evaluating raw materials and providing roadmaps for innovations in material development. We look at those championing traditional forms of manufacturing as well as those exploring the latest in new technologies, alongside innovative uses of recycled and reclaimed materials.
Join Hem in Milan
As the world starts to return to the before-times. Milan Design Week will be one of the first design events to welcome brands and designers to join them this September.
Hem will return to Corso Garibaldi to showcase designs launched during the pandemic, as well as a look at their ambitious schedule of upcoming product releases.

Since spring there have been a large number of product updates from our brands. From innovative new materials & processes, to new colours & finishes. Combined, they push the boundaries of furniture and lighting design whilst increasing the level of choice for your projects.
Product launch - Opus from +Halle
We are proud to introduce Opus from +Halle. The Opus collection exists in the vein of the great mid-century classics, a pared-back club chair that uses the bare minimum to create a personal sphere, a neat hybrid system of seats designed by Swedish design studio Form Us With Love.
Baux pushes boundaries with new material.
BAUX introduces a new sustainable and innovative acoustic product: BAUX Acoustic Felt. The acoustic felt is made out of up-cycled fabric offcuts combined with a low melt polyester fibre, which gives the material a unique structure. The offcuts consist of 100% polyester-based threads, sourced from the Swedish textile industry.
