Exhibition - Quiet Volumes 15-20 September.
A design exhibition curated by Relay Design Projects, part of Shoreditch Design Week and the London Design Festival 2026
Quiet Volumes brings together new furniture & lighting design that celebrates raw materiality and rigorous sculptural form. Set within a monastic, pared-back environment, the exhibition invites visitors to slow down and re-engage with the physical world, functioning simultaneously as an exhibition space and a contemplative reading room.
Featuring new works by Max Lamb, Note Design Studio, and Formstelle, the exhibition highlights a shared reverence for the intrinsic qualities of wood, stone, and light. Each piece is a masterclass in reduction, where the line between furniture and sculpture blurs, and the material itself dictates the form.
In collaboration with Tenderbooks, visitors are invited to sit, linger, and explore a curated library of texts that expand on the philosophies of design, material culture, and quietude. Quiet Volumes is not merely an exhibition of objects, but an invitation to inhabit a space of deep tactile and intellectual focus.
